One of the most fulfilling and exciting aspects about starting my calligraphy business has been meeting and working with so many passionate, talented, and inspirational clients, artists, and entrepreneurs. I'm so honored and grateful to have had the opportunity to contribute to Love Gives Hawaii, a new non-profit organization comprised of Hawaii's wedding and event industry leaders. This year on January 29th, the inaugural Love Gives Gala was held at the Four Seasons Resort at Ko'Olina. The gala was put together to raise money for Family Promise of Hawaii, a non-profit organization that helps homeless families get back into safe and sustainable housing. Being from Hawaii, sustainable housing is an effort I believe is worthwhile and beneficial to the families in need as they strive to be thriving members of the community.
It was surreal to see the logo I designed for Love Gives Hawaii adorning the promotional products and events leading up to the gala, and for it to be associated with such a positive cause. To see it transformed into a beautiful gold sign by Hawaii Calligraphy was beyond exciting. It is so empowering to know that there are so many unexpected ways we can all contribute our time and skills to helping others in need.
Congratulations and mahalo to the charitable couple who won my services for their wedding as part of the gala's silent auction, as well as all the generous sponsors, volunteers, and attendees of the gala who spent their night in support of hawaii's families. Because of the compassion and philanthropy of so many people, Love Gives Hawaii was able to donate $68,000 to Family Promise of Hawaii. What an amazing contribution!
